Use 's after a singular noun to show that something belongs to someone or something.
Use 's after a singular noun ending in -s, or use just ' (apostrophe) after a singular noun ending in -s when it sounds better.
Use 's after the last noun in a group to show joint possession.

Contractions:
Apostrophes are used in contractions to show where letters have been omitted.
